THURSDAY AUGUST 11TH
7:00 p.m.
“A Royal Shag Up” Comedy Dinner Theatre. Hosted by the Baccalieu Players Inc. The Queen visits and with the help of our womanizing Mayor and torrid French dancer Fifi LaFlamme, unveils a lot more than a monument! 7:00 p.m. Friday & Saturday evenings through July & Aug. Newfie Night at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 65. Sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion. Music by “Ron Rose” Screech-ins, admission: cash donation in aid of TCP Health Foundation.

Kids Activities (Ages 4-12) Location to be announced. Compliments of the Brigus Blueberry Festival Committee Inc. & Independent Fish Harvesters Inc.

4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Pot Luck Supper at the Academy Hall, Sponsored by the St. George’s Heritage Committee Inc. $9.00 per person.

7:00 p.m.

Opening Ceremonies, Water Street, Brigus
, next to Wilcox Gardens, private reception, by invitation only to follow at the Firemen’s Recreation Centre. Catering by Brigus Volunteer Fire Brigade Ladies Auxiliary.

Adult Outdoor Dance,
adjacent to the Recreation Centre. 19 years and older. Music by “Fitz” (Dave & Greg)

SATURDAY, AUGUST 13TH

Festival site admission, Saturday $2.00, Sunday $2.00, Weekend Pass $3.00 pre-school children free, bracelet must be worn to gain admittance.

8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Fish & Brewis Breakfast at Academy Hall. Sponsored by the United Church Women. $8:00 per person.

10:00 a.m.
Parade forming up at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall. Antique Vehicles, Floats, Clowns, etc..... Service Groups and Youth Groups are all invited. 11:30 a.m. Adult dance tickets go on sale at the Giant Tent. (Limit four per person. First come first served!) $7:00 single.

12:00 p.m.
Folk Festival, Raffles, Craft Stalls, Baked Goods, Games of Skill, Mooseburgers, Cash bar,etc.......Fun and Games for all ages! (All activities to be held in central Brigus, next to Wilcox Gardens).

“Missed” Blueberry Pageant
. Contestants wanted (male only) registration deadline Saturday, 3:00 p.m.

Adult dance at the Recreation Centre.
Music by “Midlife Crisis”
Sponsored by, the Brigus Blueberry Festival Committee Inc. & Brigus Volunteer
Fire Brigade. Dancing also in Giant Tent adjacent to Recreation Centre. Advance sale of tickets for this dance will take place on Sunday, August 7th, 1:00 p.m. at the Recreation Centre. Limited number available! Four tickets per person $7:00 single.

SUNDAY AUGUST 14TH
8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Blueberry Pancakes, Bacon & Sausage at the Firemen’s Recreation Centre.
Sponsored by the Firemen. $7.00 per person.

11:00 a.m.
Ecumenical Service
to be held in the St. Patrick’s Church.

12:00-2:00 p.m.
Soup, Sandwiches and Dessert
at Academy Hall. Sponsored by the United Church Women. $8:00 per person.

Folk Festival,

Cutting and Sale of 3ft Blueberry Pie,
at the Recreation Centre. $1.00 per piece.

6:00 p.m.
Loonie Dash and Out of Province Guest Draw
. Winner must be present to claim prize.

9:00 p.m. (approx.)
Fireworks at Brigus Waterfront
(weather permitting). Sponsored by Brigus Blueberry Festival Committee Inc. As a safety precaution, no persons will be permitted to observe the fireworks from the public wharf and boaters will be required to move away from the wharf during the fireworks display.

10:00 p.m.
Adult dance at the Recreation Centre
. (19 years& older please!). Music by “King Music & Video”.

NOTES
In an attempt to alleviate traffic congestion, we would like to ask visitors and residents to enter the festival area via Irish Town Road and exit via Station Road. All traffic during the weekend will be one way. Thank you for your cooperation.

PARKING: Due to traffic congestion, please park on the parking lots of the former Bishop O'Neil Collegiate and Ballfield. Festival parking can be accessed via School Road.

Physically challenged parking and performers' parking will be on Irishtown Road & South St. , East of Chapel Lane.

Free Shuttle Bus service from designated parking areas to and from the festival site.

Under the Newfoundland & Labrador Liquor Control Act, it is an offence to drink alcoholic beverage in public and this will not be tolerated at the festival. People drinking in public will be reported to the RCMP for prosecution.

Washroom facilities at the Stone Barn Museum & Recreation Centre. Portable washrooms at various other locations.

Most venues wheelchair accessible.

NO PETS OR BICYCLES ON THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS DURING THE FESTIVAL WEEKEND, PLEASE!!

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, PLEASE LEAVE HIM / HER AT HOME. IT IS TOO HOT TO LEAVE PETS IN YOUR VEHICLE AND IT'S TOO CROWDED TO TAKE PETS ONTO THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS.

PLEASE BRING YOUR SUN SCREEN.

2001 Provincial Winner of the Attractions Canada Awards Program, Cultural Event Category (budget under $350.000)

In October, 2004 Canada Post issued a special hand cancellation stamp for the Brigus Blueberry Festival. To obtain a copy drop by the Post Office or write to the Postmaster Brigus, NL. A0A 1K0.

The Board of Directors of V.I.P. Marketing Inc. voted the Brigus Blueberry Festival as the # 1 attraction on the Baccalieu Trail for 2004.

Travelocity.ca Local Secrets Big Finds. On February 2005 Travelocity.ca selected the Brigus Blueberry Festival from more than 30,000 entries as a top insider spot in Canada for 2005.

Saltscapes; Canada’s East Coast Magazine, named the Brigus Blueberry Festival # 8 of the Top 10 Festivals in Atlantic Canada for 2010.
