Brigus Blueberry Festival

The Brigus Blueberry Festival invites one and all to three days of festivities, crafts, concessions, contests, Missed Blueberry Pageant and of course, blueberries.

Brigus is well known for its unique and picturesque architecture, and delightful ambience.

This festival is a favourite in the region, and you can be sure to find plenty of unique blueberry dishes, and crafts inspired by the sweet, wild berry. Held the weekend of the second Saturday of August

In 2006 St. George's Anglican Church was presented The Manning Award for "Excellence in the Public Presentation of Historic Places." The award was presented for outstanding leadership in preserving the church as a cultural venue for public enjoyment.

Summer Theatre Events

"Live on the Lawn" - Hawthorne Cottage

Hawthorne Cottage

Hawthorne Cottage is open 10am to 6pm, 7 days per week in July and August and will close on September 3, 2013.

Live on the Lawn will be starting mid-July 2013. More details to follow. Performances take place in Hawthorne Gardens. Rain venue: upstairs in the Cottage Green Room.

Description: This series of plays brings stories to life about celebrated Arctic explorer, Captain Bob Bartlett. Performed by members of The Baccalieu Players, each of the four 20-minute theatrical presentations take place once a week throughout the months of July and August.

The Hawthorne Cottage website offers updates during the summer with specific dates and times.
